What in the veg is a search engine for plant-based recipes. We link to external recipe sites; we never republish content. This policy explains what data we collect when you use our website.
Contact Form: Name, email address, and message are collected when you submit a message via the Contact page. Stored in a Cloudflare D1 database. Used solely to respond to enquiries. Not sold or shared. Retained until manually deleted.
DMCA Requests: Name, email, organization, and takedown request details are collected via the DMCA form. Stored in a Cloudflare D1 database for processing. Not sold or shared.
Hosting & Infrastructure: The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may log standard request data (IP, browser type, pages visited) per Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Search terms (anonymous, aggregate): When you search, we record the search terms and whether they resolved, as daily counts. No IP address, account, session, cookie or location is stored with them, and they are not linked to you. They are used solely to improve ingredient coverage, and are pruned after 90 days.
No cookies are set by What in the veg. Cloudflare may set technical cookies for infrastructure (e.g. bot protection) which we have no control over. Your dark mode preference is stored in your browser's localStorage and is not transmitted to us.
We do not use analytics or advertising scripts, trackers, advertising identifiers, or tracking cookies. We do not store an IP address or any identifier beside search terms. Beyond the anonymous aggregate described above, we collect no personal data.
Cloudflare: Hosting, CDN, and database. Server request logs and contact/DMCA form submissions are processed through Cloudflare infrastructure.
Material changes will update the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of any changes.
